This new study explains how a the ultra-processed food (UPF) industry:

▶️ hides its harmful human and planetary health effects

▶️ provides its executives a privileged ‘seat at the table’ in global food governance decision making spaces.
Example: look at FReSH (Food 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 for 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 and 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 initiative). Seeing the declared "saving-the-planet-and-the-people" purpose, who do you think sits on the board?
👉 100% (no less) manufacturers and retailers of ultra-processed foods.

We wouldn't want Malboro setting the rules on tobacco would we ? Yet we let a handful of global ultra-processed food manufacturers run the show for food.

Time for (proper) reform: proper governance, transparency and accountability.
