After working for local news organisations in Pembrokeshire, Owe became an insurance and personal finance copywriter in 2007. Since then, he’s worked with numerous businesses and publications dedicated to getting people the best deals and saving them money.
I took the sideways step into the industry from local journalism in 2007, working as consumer interest writer for Confused.com. During my 10-year shift, I became lead copywriter, producing and editing every aspect of web writing - from short, sharp pay-per-click (PPC) copy to writing in-depth reports. These included deep-dives into whether Britain’s cities will go car-free, and if the nation will eventually move away from using cash.
I’ve since worked with a range of consumer, motor and personal-finance businesses including Admiral, The AA Driving School, Veygo, Ageas, Principality, MoneyWeek and Look After My Bills.
I’m a firm believer in unscrambling services and topics that can often seem inaccessible, making them digestible for consumers. And hopefully saving them money :)
While I’m at home going over industry releases or leafing through the latest copy of Which?, it’s equally important to chase up leads and speak to those in the know.
When I want to grasp a particular topic or make sense of some data, there are experts in the field who are always happy to chat and help out.
